Day 31 - I enjoyed the journey here very much and hope to be part of this for many more years. Loved the daily prompts and writing styles. Other then few days I tried to go with the prompts.

Parched wallowing earth

Chameleons and squirrels

Resting for a season

Stuffing with ample sustenance

I loved the prompt as it is on this auspicious day of our Festival "KarwaChauth" .. women observe a fast (without food and water and after looking at moon in the evening break their fast) for their Husbands for their long Life, Love and  Success.I went with the Prompt "I Love.."

Day 29 - OctPoWriMo

Festivity

Day 28 - This post is on Biggest Indian Festival 'Diwali' which is round the corner. Festivity has already begun . Goddess Laxmi (God of Wealth) and Lord Ganesha (God who blesses us on the start of every new work ). Thorough cleaning of houses are done.. New clothes are purchased .. sweets are prepared.. Rangoli (dried colourful sand patterns) are made on floor. Entrances are decorated with marigold garlands etc etc.. 

This is just the shortest summary of this great beautiful festival of Lights, which is celebrated in honor of Lord Ram who won the war with Demon Ravan (war of good over Evil).

Diwali celebration at home 

Sweet "Gujiya"

It’s that time of the year again

Dust laden corners

Are dusted and brushed

Empty cans find new entrants

Kitchen emits aromatic fragrance

Mommies prepare delicacies

Crunchy crispy sweets

Fills little tummies

Floors sparkle with mirror like shine

Elegant ‘Rangoli‘ adorns the corners

Scented candle illuminates the space

Marigold and mango leaves unite

Ornamenting the entrances

Tingling Bangles shimmering dresses

Henna beautifies the palm

Elated faces greet each other

It’s that time of the year again

When temples chime with

Tingling bells and

Reverberates sacred hymns

Welcoming the deities

Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha

feeding and nurturing

I was blessed to hear their

Sweet innocent gibberish nothings

They adorned me with

Buckets full of garden earth

I was freshly painted then

Full of life and valour

I was proud to witness their

First acquitted zealous kiss

They promised a lifetime forever

With love and passion

I was young then

Full of energy and vibrant

I was emotional to see them

Exchanging vows under the tree

Assurances for togetherness

Building faith and affection

I was aging gracefully

With fearlessness

I was thrilled to know their blossoms

Twins were they

Exact replica of their mother

Jovial as their blood relation

I was getting old

Yet I was as alive as I could be

I was elated to feel them growing

Soon standing tall

As handsome as they could be

Now showing more traces of their father

I was happy

To see my family growing

I was greeting the old couple after long

They seem drained of life

Their kids with family of their own

Had discarded them out of their lives

I am one with them old,

Exhausted and secluded.

There still lay the long creature
