Light

Pencil on Paper - Deepti Agrawal

Faint shadow

Of doubt peeks from window

Ignoring all qualms smiled quietly

Embracing

Darkness with feeble glow

Finding inner peace to the deep core

Perfection

Slowly sets inside me

It’s time for worthy celebrations

Shinny light

Peeks outside the window

Illuminating the arena…!

I am.....

Pencil Shading by Deepti Agrawal

I am.....

Floating on a sea shell

Braving the wild violent waves

Reached the shore with grace

I am.....

Dew drop resting on a petal

Crooked branch holds still

Shines valiantly with the sun rays

I am.....

A smile on an innocent face

Funny gestures I do make

Emitting peace all around

I am.....

A bicycle on a curvy road

With the soft wind on face

Content heart and peaceful soul

Crossroads

Campos de Jordaon, Brazil 2013

Walking hand in hand

On a life’s footpath

Like a wanderer in the strange realms

In search of wisdom and truth

Side by side on the sacred path

~travelling like a vagabond~

Carefree in nature and habits

Poles apart yet so near

Like the solitary railroad

Running and running never merging

Living a nomadic life.

and the Poetry Format as Puente  a poem created by James Rasmusson, and is somewhat similar to the Diamante. Like the Diamante, you start with one aspect of a topic or issue and then, line by line, work toward another aspect. In the center is a line that bridges the two aspects together.

The form has three stanzas with the first and third having an equal number of lines and the middle stanza having only one line which acts as a bridge (puente) between the first and third stanza. The first and third stanzas convey a related but different element or feeling, as though they were two adjacent territories. The number of lines in the first and third stanza is the writer’s choice as is the choice of whether to write it in free verse or rhyme.

The center line is delineated by a tilde (~) and has ‘double duty’. It functions as the ending for the last line of the first stanza AND as the beginning for the first line of the third stanza. It shares ownership with these two lines and consequently bridges the first and third stanzas

Mirage

Painting made by Khushboo

She buzzed and buzzed

And hopped from one flower to another

With a quick stride enters the door

Through a little keyhole

After roaming inside the room

Lusting over the plastic flowers

Realization hit her head

Nothing tastes better than fresh

I opened the door for her to go

She buzzed and buzzed

And rested on the glass door

Watching and dreaming

Of all the natural flowers and fruits

Smiling and inviting from outside

She did not found the way to go

Door was opened, Yet, her brain not

Wide open door was out of her thought

Searching for the same keyhole

She collapsed on the door.

Don’t be a fool

Learn lessons from that dupe

Choices are yours and decisions to take

This world and this body is a mirage

Locked inside a life’s room

Whereas the garden outside

Is the life beyond our Birth

Do not keep looking for the keyholes

The door is opened

Have courage to step out of that door

Break the chains break the shackles

Believe in your soul make journey inwards

Walk the path and listen to its voices.

Ancestors

Picture from Net

Remembering the childhood memories

With special meaning to every custom

Recalling, fondly long gone ancestors

Paying our respect and bowing to their legacy

Rich magic weaves around our persona

Between the Heaven and the Earth

Holy days mark their presence

With treats and festivities

Embracing the long trail of traditions

Richly engraved in our souls

May the love of our lineage

Blesses us forever

Keeping us secure

I know...!

Oh! You dreamer!
Comeback in this world
Do not aspire to fly high
Sky is for birds.

Sky is for birds??
Then why do I feel like
Floating high in the sky
About to reach the sun?

Oh! You nutcase!
You are a small girl
Do not talk as a monk
This world is a place to live.

This world??
Then what is that space above
I know I can touch it
I know where I belong.

Oh! You filthy girl
We are born of sin
Do not think of yourself as pure
Nothing is pure.

Really? Is nothing pure?
Then why do I feel pure
This body is not 'Me'
For that I am sure.

I am a dreamer
I know who am I
I am a pure soul
I am everything.

Gratitude

Moon '2015

Thanking the stars shining bright

Toiling answers hidden deep

Tugging hopeful dreams white

Trusting instincts to keep

Harnessing the sanities

Humbled gestures speak

Hoping to find bounties

Hitching mind tweak

Arena around hums a sweet song

Anticipating the very best

Allowing sensations to belong

After eroding the darkest

Remembering the serenity

Rousing from gratitude

Replenishing the soul until eternity

Routing towards the highest altitude

Allowing big surprises to

Strike meaningful conversations

Arise by following your gut

Annihilate the darkness &

Remember to bow in respect..

Fairy Tale

One wintry afternoon

Sitting on the bench

Deep inside a jungle

Sweet sultry aroma wafted

In the air

Stomach growled

And craved

For something wild

Feet dragged towards

Unknown destination

In search of

Strange feeling

Grumble.. grumble…

Fingers swept the branch

And picked the yellow fruit

Numb senses craved

Yet again

Sweet smell turned

Sour and bitterest

As soon it touched

The tongue

Yuck..yuck

Reflexively

Mouth spit it out

Lo! Behold!

It turned into a Golden Bar..!!

Bleeding Earth

Cold and immune heart beats
Galloped on a coarse road
Beating the words on icy tongue
Furry beast spits the venom
Hard blood boils and spills over
Strange Mental games are played
In the womb of Mother Earth
Soft brown mud weeps silently

Birth of Ideas

Like a tiny mouse

It tiptoed and entered

My house

Charming silken threads

Weaved sweet tales

Graciously

Rough holes smoothens

Putrid thoughts

Perished

Stale breath

Heaved a sigh

And escaped

Novel ideas

Peeked from behind

Buzzing …!

Live

Relaxing - 2015

Breathe

Your life

Full of love

In the meadow

Smiling - you sprint high above

Rejuvenate with warm mellow

Merging on horizon with bright rainbow

Rebooting the healing process - fighting to live

Amazing meditation brings the glow

Happiness unfurls the tight loop

It’s the time to believe

How to follow

And ignite

Our life

Live!

The syllable structure of the diatelle is as follows: 1/2/3/4/6/8/10/12/10/8/6/4/3/2/1, but unlike an ethere, has a set rhyme pattern of abbcbccaccbcbba. This poetry form may be written on any subject matter and looks best center aligned in a diamond shape. The Diatelle form was created by Bradley Vrooman.

Magic

Picture taken in 2015, Gurgaon, India

Around the merry-go-round

Bees buzzed

Capturing attention

Dreaming wilderness

Echoing the breath

Finding unsolved answers

Gifting the bond of love

Gripping magic weaved a web of senses

Fixing and mending

Etching the soul with truth

Dramatically

Closing the

Bleeding gaps

Around the merry-go-round.

Hopping and Jumping

Evading the Crocodile

Ready to pounce

Not scary

Crocodiles are everywhere

Waiting to swallow

Whenever

Spirits are shallow

Finding strength

To uplift

Getting stronger

Truth

Opened the can full of words

  To create meaningful images

    Absolute truth fell like Peace.

Independent thoughts swirled

  Mingled with positive senses

Opened the can full of words.

Flexible sensations floated

  Paints borrowed from a rainbow

    To create meaningful images

Foot tapped for unknown reasons

  Danced with reckoning speed

    Absolute truth fell like Peace.

(Peace, reason, flexible, independent, absolute, reckoning)

and I went with Cascade Poetry Form a form created by Udit Bhatia, is all about receptiveness, but in a smooth cascading way like a waterfall. The poem does not have any rhyme scheme; therefore, the layout is simple. Say the first verse has three lines. Line one of verse one becomes the last line of verse two. To follow in suit, the second line of verse one becomes the last line of verse three. The third line of verse one now becomes the last line of verse four, the last stanza of the poem.

Ready to reach the light

Recklessly flaps and sings

Determined to end the fight

Melting I into

Creating Healing Hearts

Day 5

Colours spread on the canvas silently

Like a striking veil, falls radiantly

Creating intricate zigzag pattern

Creasing gentle piece of satin

Yellow, blue and greens sparkles

Smile on her aesthetic lip crackles

Intoxicating aroma surround

Hidden happiness came around

Is it the right time to move on?

Or wait for other patterns to adorn

Colours spread on the canvas silently

Like a striking veil, falls radiantly

Creating intricate zigzag pattern

Creasing gentle piece of satin

Bleeding heart breaks the barrier

It’s time to forgive the hauler

Healing starts its magical miracle

Soul stretches to its pinnacle

Path to different journey enfolds

Natural emotion now demoulds

Wavering abrasions rectify it-self

Therapeutic mood creates self

Colours spread on the canvas silently

Like a striking veil, falls radiantly.

Yellow, blue and greens sparkles

Smile on her aesthetic lip crackles

Mellowing of cheerful heart trails

Adverse thoughts are far on sail

Garden flowers beamed bright

Heightened senses are a delight

Timeworn pallet sits silently on ground

Green vines have entwined around

Pluck the vibrant shades from the lawn

Healing hearts are creating dawn

Colours spread on the canvas silently

Like a striking veil, falls radiantly.

Today's Prompt was

The Licentia Rhyme Form, a poetic form created by Laura Lamarca, consists of at least 3 12-line stanzas with 11 syllables per line. Of course, the poem can be elongated adding on to the following rhyme scheme: aabbccddeeAA, BBffgghhiiAA, CCjjkkllmmAA

The Licentia Rhyme Form is named after Laura Lamarca's signature, "La" and "Licentia" which is Latin for "Freedom".

I have tried to use a difficult and new format rather than taking up the other Shape Poetry Format. It was very challenging for me to do this piece but I am satisfied with the end result.

today's Prompt was my favourite, a Blitz Poem - a poetry form created by Robert Keim.
It is a stream of short phrases and images with repetition and rapid flow. Which begins with one short phrase. The next line begins with the same first word as line 1. The first 48 lines are short, but at least two words.
The 3rd and 4th lines are phrases that begin with the last word of the 2nd phrase, the 5th and 6th lines begin with the last word of the 4th line, and so on, continuing, with each subsequent pair beginning with the last word of the line above them, which establishes a pattern of repetition.
This continues for 48 total lines, And then in the last two lines repeat the last word of line 48, then the last word of line 47.
The title is only 3 words, with some sort of preposition or conjunction joining the first word from the third line to the first word from the 47th line, in that order.
With no punctuation. When reading a BLITZ, it is read very quickly, pausing only to breathe.
