Daily Diary 7 - Gallivant

On that warm springy evening, the birds were returning to their nest . I was watering my ever smiling greens and talking to my bright Red Amaryllis along with pink wonders which were smiling next to Tomatoes and Brinjals, sitting on my windowsill. Sweet baby sparrows and baby Purple sunbirds were waiting anxiously for their food, sitting warmly in their nests.

I wondered whether they are following social distancing too just as we do? After all, their nests were built far apart from one another. Already the bees, the birds and the dogs had conversed with me telling their sad tales during the times of Corona and social distancing.

I was engrossed and lost in their old conversations in my head when I heard someone called my name. I looked here and there and I found none. I had this unsettling feeling because that voice seemed so very real , Yet I could not see anyone. I switched off the tap and folded the pipe and then I started sweeping the floor. Once again I heard my name – this time it was LOUD and CLEAR. I looked here and there and realised that it was the ROAD speaking to me. (No wonder)

I asked her what has caused her to speak to me at this time. (The Storyteller in me quirked up now I must know what is her side of the story. I must record all to tell the tale to the future generation)

She replied “I hope the world is healing. I feel so light and free.  Suddenly I do not find the pressure of vehicles and people walking on me. Humans of all species which are considered as the brainiest are the worst of all living race. They spit and shit, tease and beat.  They constantly leave ugly bruises on me.  Sometimes they dig my heart and insert rods and leave me to bleed for ages. Authorities come and check, no action is taken and even they leave me with open wounds for a very long time. Hearing goes on and on for so long without any concrete results. I have to suck my pain and heal my wounds or let them ooze with pus for ever. I know this too will pass.

The red light on the road outside your society told me that even she is left alone as there are hardly any violators who disobey her commands. After all I am having deserted feel then who is there to violate her. She still keeps up her job efficiently and without fail she turns red green and yellow at regular intervals who knows maybe someday someone steps out. Sometimes she is bored working all alone with no one to look at. I told her this too shall pass.

The other day I met the wind; she looked so clean, fresh and pure. Her skin was radiantly glowing and she looked so young and vibrant. She whistled gaily and blew past me taking away the fine debris which had settled due to no daily hustle bustle. The wind felt cool and soothing on my skin. I am feeling so alive after a looooong time. She squealed merrily. She danced on her toes and the yellowed leaves danced along. What a beautiful sight it was.

I want to show you all this but then I know for you to be safe you must stay inside. Your home is the safest to stay alive and risk free.”

“Hmm! “ I sighed at her plight “ it is good to know that at least wind is Happy but know what ? This too will pass. Time is never constant it keeps changing. “

If only we humans had been more considerate.
If only we had compassion.
If only we had humanity.
If only we would have cared.
You would not have cried your despair.
Until then Take care. Stay Home. Stay Safe.

Faith

Thousand and Thousands of flickering light
Sparkled and Twinkled in the dark night
Faith of Light,
Faith beamed bright
Vanquished
The darkness inside.

Red and Purple Jacaranda
Strewn on my lawn

Waiting to find a perfect Heaven
Dreams not to adorn the hair of a Damsel
Dreams not to rest on any saint's head

Doctors who live for us thee
Hail white coat bearers
You took away our fears.

Daily Diaries 2

With determination and high hopes I opened my precious dried Pea Pod in the month of October. It was time to plant the seed inside the womb of the Almighty Mother Earth. With utter care and patience it was my turn to wait for the seeds to sprout. Like an enthusiastic (lunatic) curiosity I watched keenly at the spot. Loving and caressing the dirt below my palm in the pot.

On the other side my ‘Pati Parmeshwar’ was also hopeful to become a father again of the most beautiful and adorable Pea Pods in the universe to take birth right in our mini garden. He started looking forward for the day our loving plant decides to deliver the lustrous perfect pods. He even decided to name the pods – Pitta, patta, patter…. Blah blah blah…

It was January now and our eyes glistened with love and tears when we first spotted the tiny miniscule buds on the plants. What a bliss it was. But God has some other plans stored for us. He took away our happiness by sending extreme harsh winter. To our horror all our pea plants succumb to the intense cold wave ‘aur allah ko pyaare ho gaye’..

My world came crashing down and then I saw one plant shining and smiling at me with a lovely beautiful yellow flower by the end of february. Ahaa!! so God loves me a lot I know. That is why my ‘Mehnat rang(flower) laai.. aur meri goad mein ek nanhe munne ‘pea’ ki kilkari dikhai di….

Soon that flower blossomed into a perfect Pea Pod. It was time for my ‘Pati Parmeshwar’ to inspect with his sombre look.

Satisfied! He smiled and said with love ‘Janeman.. aaj to matar pulav bana hi do…!!

Daily Diary 5

One fine winter morning in March sitting in the garden sipping hot ginger tea, suddenly, I noticed a pigeon looking at me with keen eyes sitting on the cable wire.

I asked it what was he thinking looking like that? He said “Oh’ man, I just do not understand what has happened to all the humans. They are behaving so strangely. I can’t see them on their regular morning walks, rushing in their cars towards their office neither do I see them roaming on the roads aimlessly though looking as if they have most important errands to do so. It seems they have reconciled in their cocoons fearing of something. “

“Well, Dear Pigeon you are absolutely right we all are afraid of this deadly virus hovering over our heads ready to pounce on us any moment. Making us sick and sometimes even send us back to the realms no one knows off.”

“Hunh! So what is there to be afraid off? Everyone goes back. Why do they need to sit in home? They are not compassionate or considerate about our wellbeing.  They don’t even understand how much problem we are facing these days due to their home bound restrictions.”

“Why? What is wrong? We are trying our best to provide food for you all. What is that is troubling you?” I asked

“Don’t you know we have lost all the meaning to stay happy and it is difficult for us as there are no heads where we could aim at. ”

Daily Diary 6

….Part 2 #CoronaKaRona #KahaniDurbar #DailyDiary 6

One fine spring afternoon, while I was enjoying the greens and smiling flowers, in my garden, I was mesmerized with the buzzing sound of bees and butterflies. One butterfly rested on my hair and the bee buzzed on my flowery dress.

(Bhanwara bada nadaan hai……)

Interrupting me - A dog came crying and knocked on my gate. I was in a dilemma, to welcome it inside or not. This Lock-down and Isolation situation has blocked my brain and the capability to be social or not (to be or not to be- That is the question). After all this is the time of Social-Distancing.

Since a kind hearted person I could not see the tears of the poor dog. So I called him inside and gave him milk and bread. But he refused to eat(no value for my feelings…sob…sob!). He said what will he do by eating? (Hainnnn… Matlab????)

“Why my dear? What is making you so sad? We all must eat to stay fit and alive. Isn’t it?”

“Bohoooo!” He howled again. His eyes started watering and then suddenly a wave of tears crashed on my feet (charansparsh  nahin kar raha tha balki apne aansoon ki ganga jamna me nehla raha tha). Now he was crying inconsolably.

“Oh, Dear! Come and share your pain” I hugged him.

“Tell me what is wrong with you humans these days? Why are you not rushing everywhere, every time? Why are you suddenly behaving as if you all are dead? Why can’t you see US happy? “ He stuttered all at one go.

“Wait a second. What did you say? Why can’t we see you happy? Of course we all love you. Aren’t we all feed you?” I was surprised at his rant.

‘Tadap..Tadap ke iss dil se .. aah nikalti rahi..’

“Yes you all feed us. But what is the point of having food and no fun at all. We are not able to digest our food as there are no Cars on the road to chase. The roads are deserted. At whom should we bark at? There are so many cars everywhere to pee -that was fun, but now even that is NO fun - nobody comes to scare or beat us. Bohoooooooo!”

‘Dil ka haal kahe ye (Bhounkanewaala) koi na iska dard samajnewaala’
